Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh has called for patience from fans as he begins preparation for Nigeria’s next Gabon 2017 Africa Cup of Nations game.
Nigeria travel to Tanzania on September 5 to face the Taifa Stars – and confront Burkina Faso over two legs in October for the Africa Nations Championship qualifiers. And the Eagles will play their first game in the second round of the African qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in November.
Oliseh told thenff.com, “We have no choice but to hit the ground running.
“Jean Francois (his assistant) and I have been busy combing and tracking players in Europe, while Salisu Yusuf has been doing same with the home-based stars.
According to thenff.com, Alloy Agu, who is the national Under-23 team goalkeeping coach, will move to the Eagles after the team’s 2016 Olympic Games qualifier against Congo.
Oliseh added, “We have to cover all grounds and be adequately prepared for all the competitions we are involved in, whether it is CHAN, AFCON or the World Cup qualifiers.
“Our list of invited players for CHAN will be out in the first week of August, while that of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania should be out in mid-August.
“We urge everyone to continue to support the team and join their efforts with ours in ensuring that the Super Eagles succeed on all fronts.”
